Bryan Williams - CEO, Program Director and Head Coach of the Hoopers NY Girls Premier AAU Basketball Program.  Coach Bryan played Varsity High School basketball at Blessed Sacrament H.S. in New Rochelle, New York; he was considered one of the top point guards in the Metropolitan Area. After H.S. he was recruited by American International College in Springfield MA, on a full Basketball Scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management. Currently Brian Williams is a Correction’s Officer for Westchester County Department of Corrections.  Bryan believes in giving back to his community through teaching and coaching basketball.   The Hoopers NY AAU basketball organization was founded by Bryan  and few coaches who believed that there needed to be a program throughout New York dedicated to addressing and developing the basketball skills needed by girls. Our experience has given us the opinion that there are probably more than twice as many boy’s teams as there are girl’s teams in any given age/grade division. This would not only mean that there was more competition for boys but the overall quality would be better.
So basing our club on the philosophy that there needs to be more teams therefore more competition, we decided to offer a program that could not only stress the need for development of fundamentals and basics of the sport but make the program available to more girls than ever before throughout New York, New Jersey and even Connecticut. We ultimately want to be able to offer the best instruction to ALL girls who wish to play basketball regardless of their previous level of skill, experience, social or economic background, and geographical location. It is also one of our goals to hold the girls accountable academically as well. Our coaches have a genuine interest with how the girls are performing in school and to offer any help they can for a struggling student.
All of our teams have the same basic foundation of play and practice. This means the instruction that starts in 3rd grade is built upon a fundamental core of instruction that is expanded to include more strenuous drills and continues all the way through 12th grade. The drills start out the same but become more complicated based on the age group and skill level of the player as they move on. So they will be doing some portion of their drills exactly the same from the 3rd through 12th grade. By progressively adding to the overall instruction over time our players generally have an expectation of growing success in the game. We plan in the very near future to be adding academic help for girls who need it within our program.
Not only are we ultimately responsible for making a player better at the game they want to play, but we want to play a vital role in helping to shape the leaders of tomorrow by instilling the value of moral leadership, good sportsmanship, and a healthy lifestyle in everyone who puts on a uniform and plays for the Hoopers Ny.
Basketball can be used as a tool for success in life by developing and training young girls to be able to compete on a high level, to get ready for College. We are striving to instill a solid foundation of morals, self-confidence, healthy eating, and athletic stamina in all of our players which they can use throughout their lives.

Thank you,
