Huskies fall short against CD, 60-46
December 10, 2014, Lewistown Sentinel Save |
HARRISBURG - Mifflin County had plenty of shooting but not enough scoring, as the Huskies lost their Commonwealth Division girls basketball opener at Central Dauphin, 60-46, on Tuesday.
Mifflin County coach Roger Herto said his team was probably in the low 20s for shooting percentage against the Rams.
"We just aren't shooting well. We missed a lot of opportunities in that game," he said.
He also said the girls held up well against a tough Mid-Penn team, something many of them had not seen at this level previously.
"Our intensity was really good," he said. "A lot of these kids grew up tonight."
On the plus side, Mifflin County's turnover ratio was negligible, he said, because the Huskies forced plenty.
Eleana Eckley's 12 points led the visitors.
Mifflin County won the JV game, 45-41 in overtime. Erika Lepley bucketed 11 to lead that team.
The Huskies (1-2, 0-1) host Chambersburg Friday.
