Rough Night at York Suburban
Dec. 29, 2015
Rebounds cost MC girls game
December 29, 2015, Lewistown Sentinel Save |
From staff reports
YORK - Molly Day scored 22 points for York Suburban and the home team knocked off Mifflin County 55-39 in the opening round of the school's girls basketball tournament on Monday night.
Maggie Wilson led the Huskies with 15, but for Mifflin County, it was a lack of rebounding that plagued it.
"We defended poorly and our rebounding was atrocious," Mifflin County coach Roger Herto said. "They had a possession where they had seven shots. We just didn't play well."
Day was a problem, but it was more Parker Faircloth-Henise's work on the boards that did the damage.
"We let her score 13 points, when she averages 3-4 points," Herto said. "All she did was stand around the basket and rebound."
Mifflin County (4-4) will play Twin Valley tonight at 6 p.m. in the consolation game.
