The Game Stick

Graham Harris played his senior year for the Fort Bend Ranger Lacrosse Club during the 2005 season. Having previously played lacrosse in San Antonio his addition to the team brought much needed experience to an otherwise shaky offense.

After high school, Graham enlisted in the United States Army. Following basic training, he was assigned to duty in Afghanistan. In the spring of 2007, Graham was shot and killed while serving our country.

In honor of Graham's sacrifice, his number 28 jersey was retired and placed in a display case that was presented to his family. Graham's father felt that Graham's stick and equipment should be left to the team for the benefit of future players.

Graham's stick has now been designated as the Game Stick. Starting with the 2008 season, the Game Stick will be presented by the Varsity Head Coach to a player after each official game. The Game Stick represents outstanding achievement, a positive attitude, hustle, and sportsmanship shown by the recipient during that game. It is a perpetual award that is returned at the beginning of each game in order to be awarded again. The Game Stick is not a toy, but an honor. It represents the memory of a great player and a great person that the team will try to keep alive by playing with passion. We will play to earn the right to be awarded the Game Stick.
