Smithtown Improves to 2-0, Down TCB Gm. 2

Jul. 16, 2016

Smithtown took on TCB / Team CT Baseball with Dillon going the distance for the 6-2 victory.  Dillon was locked in early as he marched into the 4th inning having retired 9 of 10 TCB / Team CT Baseball batters.  A walk, single and SAC fly would give TCB a 1-0 lead, but Smithtown would bounce back to take a 2-1 lead in the B4th.

Smithtown managed only 2 hits, but coupled with 7 walks and 2 TCB errors, the scale was tipped in their favor.  B4th, Nick worked a 1 out walk and stole 2nd.  Big Red walked and a WP moved them both up.  Jeremy's single to LF made it 2-1, Smithtown.  However, the lead was short-lived.  TCB tied it after a 1 out Smithtown error, passed ball, and single.  Dillon allowed only 4 hits total, with one each in the 6th and 7th for TCB.

Smithtown rallied for 4 runs B5th, with Salvatore's leadoff walk starting the action.  A SAC by Josh, Rob reaching on an E5, Wes & Anthony working walks, and Jason's single netted a 6-2 lead for the STAMPEDE.  Smithtown would go on to win the contest as they advance to the Sunday morning SEMI-Final as the number 3 seed with a 2 & 0 record.
