Ever thought about playing lawn bowls? Giving it a try maybe? Well, here’s your opportunity at Wimbledon Park Bowls Club. The club is located in front of the pavilion near to the watersports centre/lake in Wimbledon Park - SW19 7HX.

- Free coaching

- Equipment provided

- Organised opportunities to play on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday

- The bowls green is open 7 days a week from 11.00am until dusk, from the end of April until the end of September.

- All ages welcome

Jul 28, 2014 - A Strong Performance in the District Pairs

This evening Pete/Brian travelled to Heathfield to play their District Pairs. With both Wimbledon Park bowlers drawing well it was not long before they had opened up a lead which continued to grow until after 15 ends their opponents shook hands and conceded. The winning score was 25 - 8.

Jul 28, 2014 - A Second Quarter-Final Place in the District Mixed Singles

Luke joined Neil as the second Wimbledon Park bowler through to the last 8 of the District Mixed Singles as he also had his game conceded to him.

Jul 27, 2014 - League Defeat to Bolingbroke

This afternoon's league match saw Bolingbroke visit Wimbledon Park. Mary, Anne, Ossie and Martin were holding their own after 10 ends when 7 - 9 down but a three and a six against in the next two ends saw the game change with Bolingbroke ending up 25 - 13 winners. Luke, Betty, Brian and Jonathan found themselves 7 - 13 down after 9 ends, but battled back to level the game at 18 - 18 after 18 ends. Unfortunately they could not match their opponents in the final three ends, losing 19 - 22. James (making his league debut), Sabrina, Ann and Barry started well leading 6 - 0 at three ends, but in a game which saw the lead change four times, they could not quite hold on, Bolingbroke picking up 2 on the final end to level at 18 - 18. Match result 1 - 9 (50 - 65).

Jul 26, 2014 - Eleventh Hour Concession in the League

Following South London's eleventh hour concession, this afternoon's league game was unfortunately not played. As a result of the concession, Wimbledon Park Have been awarded the game and 7 league points, whilst South London have had 7 points deducted. Wimbledon Park have also been awarded 10 shots. Apologies to everyone who had been selected to play.

Jul 26, 2014 - Fantastic Morning at Today's Taster Session

This morning's taster session was an all time 'record setter' with 19 people in attendance! The sun shone, the enjoyment factor was extremely high and at the end we welcomed Ralph, our 12th new bowler to join Wimbledon Park in 2014. Thanks to all club members who made our visitors feel so welcomed on the green.

Jul 24, 2014 - Into the Quarter-final of the District Champion of Champions

This evening Jonathan travelled to Battersea Park to play Graham Sines in the Wimbledon and District Champion of Champions competition. Starting strongly Jonathan led 7 - 2 after 6 ends and 14 - 2 after 10 ends. Continuing to draw well Jonathan's lead increased, although Graham kept in it with some telling final bowls. Jonathan secured victory and a place in the quarter-finals on the 21st end, winning 21 - 9.

Jul 24, 2014 - Victory in the Mid-week Triples

This afternoon Streatham Park visited Wimbledon Park for the mid-week triples fixture. Ossie, Brian and Neil began well leading 11 - 2 at 6 ends, by 12 ends the gap had increased to 22 - 5 and by the end the win was secure at 27 - 12. Hector, Jonathan and Barry were level at 7 - 7 after 7 ends, at 12 ends they led 13 - 9 and built on this to win 20 - 13. Match result 8 - 0 (47 - 25).
