Nov 14, 2017 - Centenary Gala Ball

Massive thanks to all who helped in any way at last weekend’s Centenary Gala Ball Celebrations in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal. It was a great occasion for the club and one which was very well run, attended and organised.

Our Special Guest Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh had many a tail to tell while presentations were made to our honorary presidents, our Intermediate Championship winning team and players of the year. We thank all those who generously donated prizes for the raffle and to all who helped gather items for the Auction. It was a great success all told.

Below are a flavour of the pics from the evening thanks to Tim Flaherty.

There was some style on show while Chairman Bernard Feeley addressed the crowd and guest Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh got into a story he was telling.

Eoin Shiels receiving his Minor Player of the Year award from Manager Gerry McAloon while Gary Doherty (Most Improved), Shane McAloon (Reserve Player of the Year) and Jonathan Feeley (Senior Player of the Year) are presented their awards by Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh.

YOUTH

Commisserations to our Under 13 Girls who were beaten after extra time in the Division 1 League Final on Saturday by Kinawley. They were moments from glory but a late comeback by Kinawley ensured it was a draw at full time before they went on to win it in extra time. It was a tremendous effort from our girls who booked their place in the final with a 2-12 to 0-3 win over Lisnaskea earlier in the day. This brings Youth football in the club to an end for the season, we thank Paul, Sharon, Lucia and the players themselves for the time and effort they put into it this year.

Details on the end of year Youth Presentation will be released in due course.
