AGM

After last weekends adjourned AGM, Officers for 2018 are as follows. Chairman Bernard Feeley, Vice Chairman Dominic Kerrigan, Secretary Sharon McGrath, Assistant Secretary Tom White, Treasurer Tony McGourty, Assistant Treasurer to be filled. PRO Paul McGrath, Youth Officer Paul McGrath, Child Protection Officer Kathleen McPartland, Health & Well Being Damien McHugh. Committee Members Brendan McPartland, Gerard Mellor, Emmet Scollan, Nigel Sweeney, Nigel McGrath, Darragh Timoney, Shane McAloon, Ryan McGovern, Barry Nolan, Phil Corrigan, Sean Burns, Pat Kerrigan, Anthony Kerrigan.

EVENTS

Adam Burke Support Fund

The club have a few wee events going on in aid of Adam Burke from Kildare who suffered a stroke while playing for his club in September 2016. Read more here: https://www.runforadamburke.org/who-is-adam Anyone looking Tim Flaherty's photography’s of the Centenary Gala Ball, a £5 donation to get a copy of the picture will go to this Charity as will the £5 donations for your Belcoo GAA Team of the Century selections which can be given to Tony McGourty, entries still being taken up until 21st January 2018. All support greatly appreciated.

MacNean Icebreakers - Stop Suicide

Joe Maguire Memorial

The Adult Men will play in the Joe Maguire Memorial Charity Game against Shannon Gaels on Boxing Day, throw in at 2pm in Blacklion. Proceeds to Shannon Gaels and the Michael A McGovern Fund. All support greatly appreciated.

Dec 11, 2017 - Club Notes

IMPORTANT

None of executive positions within our Club were filled at last weekends AGM. The adjourned AGM will be Sunday 17th December at 6pm in LCC Centre. If there is to be a Gaelic Club in Belcoo in 2018 officers need to be elected. This affects everyone. Members, Adult players and parents of our underage boys & girls. Without a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and committee, there is no club. Please make yourself available to attend.

WINTER CONDITIONING

Winter conditioning for teams continues despite these uncertain times going forward. Our U16 Boys are out tonight, Monday 11th December, from 8pm to 9pm in BeFit Gym Blacklion, cost €2 .

The U14 Girls sessions continue tomorrow, Tuesday 12th December, from 8pm to 9pm at the same venue, cost €2.

The last sessions of this programme before Christmas will be on Monday 18th & Tuesday 19th for the respective age groupings.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the club lotto Jackpot draw on Monday 4th December 2017. Letters drawn were  A, D, K, Q, Z. Lucky dips went to Sinead McCabe, Ryan McGovern, Margaret McCann and Theresa Green. Two monthly £50's went to Patricia Magee & Colin Maguire. Next weeks Jackpot is for £2,500.

CONDOLENCES

The club extends its deepest sympathy to the family of Mary Ellen Maguire, Toam who passed away at the weekend. Her removal takes place this evening, Monday 11th December at 6.15pm to arrive in St. Lasir's Church Wheathill for 7pm. Funeral mass at 11am tomorrow, Tuesday, followed by burial in Killesher Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

The club is forming a guard of honor at her residence from 6pm on Monday evening. Can any available members please be there. 

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Senior player James McGrath and his wife Amanda on the birth of their first child over the weekend, a little girl called Layla.

Dec 7, 2017 - Upcoming Events Locally

Upcoming Events Locally - Please Support - Mullaghdun Community Association Christmas Bazaar on Friday 8th December from 8.30pm. Also, Cumann Gaelach Mhic Néin which is for anyone in the area looking to learn Irish. This is an adult beginners class and it will commence in the new year, 15th January from 8pm to 9pm in the LCC Centre. It is a 10week course costing £40 / €45. Strength and Conditioning continues for U16 Boys on Monday’s in BeFit Gym Blacklion from 8pm to 9pm for the next few weeks and U14 Girls on Tuesday’s at the same venue from 8pm to 9pm. Players are asked to bring €2.

COACHING COURSES

There are two Foundation Award course in the New Year - 26th & 27th January (includes Safeguarding) and another Foundation Award will be run 16th & 17th February (Includes Safeguarding). The club will pay for anyone who is interested in attending Coaching Coaches. You must attend all days in order to gain the qualification.

CONDOLENCES

The club extends its deepest sympathy to Adrian McCallion and his family on the passing of his mother Anne over the weekend. May she rest in peace.

The Youth Presentation Night was held last Sunday 26th November in the LCC Centre as we looked back on the exploits of our underage teams in 2017. We thank all our players, mentors, parents, supporters and sponsors for everything during the past 12months and we look forward to your continued support in 2018.
