Big Day in Croke Park for Belcoo Girls

Aug. 28, 2009

Two pupils of St.Columban's PS, Belcoo underage stars Donna Feeley and Tara Gallagher featured in the GAA/INTO Go Games exhibitions at half time in the Minor Championship game between Armagh and Kerry in Croke Park on Sunday 23rd August.

Donna and Tara were two of the forty children from across Ireland chosen to play in the specially commissioned GAA 125 Years jerseys.

For these children and their parents, teachers and coaches this is a dream come true.

First of all Donna and Tara represented St Columban's in the Fermanagh Mini Sevens which they duly won. From here they progressed to the Regional Go Game Festivals where they were selected for their skill and teamwork to play in Croke Park.

Although Tyrone was beaten it didn't stop the girls from bringing back happy memories of the occasion - Tara's mother, Fiona, is a native of Arboe the home of the McGuigan brothers.

All in St Columban's and Belcoo hope that Sunday will be a stepping stone to future success in the years to come.
