The visitors made a bright start to this contest as Ian Corrigan fisted a goal within 90seconds of the throw in. A good move down the right between Aidan McGrath and Ronan Meehan seen the latter loft the ball into the square for Corrigan to palm into the net.

Belcoo had the aid of a stiff breeze during this period but St. Pat's were fit to conjure up a number of close range free kicks to keep the scoreboard ticking over and Sean McDermott landed the first of these on 3minutes.

Belcoo were on top and had the majority of possession throughout the first period although some poor decision making on the ball would hamper the visitors. One neat move however saw Shane McAloon's crossfield ball find Damien Holleran in space and the wing forward duly popped over from the right wing.

St. Pat's had a good 10minute spell midway through the half with Barry Little forcing Jack O'Dolan into a good save with his feet before Little landed a point minutes later. McDermott tapped over two frees to tie the contest at 0-4 to 1-1 and O'Dolan was again called upon to keep out the home side with a fantastic double save.

At the other end Ian Corrigan slipped in Kieran Conlon who drilled wide while Corrigan again laid on Holleran who fired straight at Conor Martin in the St. Pat's goal. Conlon would land a point before the break and Aidan McGrath knocked one over from distance. Pat's too added two points before half time with Eugene Cadden and Kevin Maguire on target. HT 0-6 to 1-3.

St. Pat's made much better use of the wind in the second half and landed four quick points to pull clear. Kevin Maguire (2), Barry Little and Gary Maguire on target within 8minutes of the restart. The game was going away from Belcoo at this stage but they were given a lifeline when substitute Eunan Mullally was taken down for a penalty, Gary Maguire drilled the spot kick down the middle to leave the score 0-10 to 2-3 on 42minutes.

Belcoo failed to score over the remainder and St.Pat's kept adding to their tally. Joe McGovern, Sean McDermott (2), Barry Little, Eugene Cadden and Kevin Maguire all on target in what ended a comfortable win for the hosts.
