Together for Sam Christmas Morning Swim
Dec. 25, 2013
The Belcoo O'Rahilly's Footballers joined forces with the Annual MacNean Icebreakers Christmas Morning Swimmers a number of weeks ago to raise money for this years chosen Charity... Together For Sam.
Sam Bradley is the 2year old son of Colm & Michelle Bradley. Colm was appointed Senior Manager in Belcoo this time last year but following Sam's diagosinus of high risk Neuroblastoma form of Cancer in January 2013. Colm was unable to continue as Manager and departed in April when the full extent of Sam's condition materialised.
The players constantly kept Colm and his family within their thoughts throughout the year and decided at the end of footballing season to do a fundraiser for Sam. The MacNean Icebreakers Christmas Morning Swin was an ideal fit and this morning 30 of the clubs Adult Players took to the freezing water at Blacklion Pier.
Below are some pictures of the event from Tim Flaherty. Further Pictures can be found in the Gallery Section (on the left). The amount raised for Together For Sam in not known at the present time but it was an extremely well supported event and we thank all those who organised, sponsored and participated in the event.
