Belcoo, who had players in unfamiliar positions during this Charity encounter raced into a four point lead with Niall Leonard and Ryan Leonard kicking the first two scores, both of whom were lined out in forward positons. Jonathan Feeley and James McGrath, making a rare cameo outfield also landed points.

It took Shannon Gaels some fifteen minute to get among the scores before Nevan O'Donnell pointed from a free kick and the hosts would tie the game at four points each by the 25th minute.

Jack O'Dolan in the Belcoo goals was forced into two great saves during this dominant period by the Gaels but Belcoo would counter before the interval and Niall Leonard would neatly tuck the ball into the bottom corner for 1-4 to 0-4 at the break.

Upon the restart Belcoo's Shain Gallagher added a point before Kieran Leonard and then Jonathan Feeley clipped over a few placed balls which O'Donnell matched at the other end. Feeley would then register a fine point from play to extend his sides lead to six points at 1-9 to 0-6.

Looking comfortable Belcoo suffered a lapse in concentration at the back allowing the hosts to net two quick goals from Daniel O'Hara and Ollie Nolan to tie the contest again.

This dramatic few minutes brought the crowd to life and setup a grandstand finale. Kieran Leonard and Nevin O'Donnell traded points from Paul McGrath raced down the field to put Belcoo ahead again. James McGrath followed up with a long range point while Feeley tapped over a free kick after being brought down as he sped in from the right wing.

O'Donnell did manage to register a free while O'Hara hit the crossbar going for goal but Belcoo had enough in hand when Feeley again popped over a deadball to secure a three point win. 1-14 to 2-8.
