JUNIORS: Belcoo 3-12 v 1-7 Derrylin
Belcoo Juniors recorded a seventh win of the season from eight fixtures as they beat Derrylin 3-12 to 1-7 at MacNean Park last Friday evening.
The O’Rahilly’s had built up a 9point lead at the interval having played with a strong wind in their favour however they had to withstand some pressure from the visitors in the second half before claiming a comfortable win.

A fortunate opening score seen a tame Aaron Dolan shot for a point drop into the Derrylin goalkeepers hand, the ‘keeper though would somehow fumble the ball into the net for a goal. Points from Gary Maguire, Ronan Meehan (2) and Damian Holleran had Belcoo in good position despite several other wayward efforts before Damian Holleran netted his sides second goal as half time loomed.
Derrylin could only muster two points during sporadic attacks as Belcoo held a 2-5 to 0-2 half time lead.
Derrylin came into the game more with the elements favouring them and a quickfire 1-2 early in the half seen the visitors creep back into the tie.
