The O'Rahillys are notorious fast starters in recent games and they were to hit the opening four points in this contest also. Jonathan Feeley opening the scoring from the left wing before Aaron Dolan landed a left footed score. Feeley would account for the next score from a close range free while Niall Leonard got forward from full back to clip over a neat point.

Things would begin to turn in Teemore's favour as they got to grips with their opposite numbers and the Shamrocks would rattle over the next six points. John Fitzpatrick accounting for the bulk of the scores while Joey Donegan and Jason McCaffrey also raised the white flag. During this period of dominance by the hosts Belcoo did conjure up three goal opportunities, Niall McGovern's toe poking an effort narrowly wide while Niall Leonard seen a placed effort magnificently beaten away by Curry.

A first point in some time did arrive when Aaron Dolan's snapshot from close range was tipped over the bar by an inspired Curry. Belcoo would eventually find the net from a stunning Shane McCabe strike from distance, Paul McGrath's pass into Dolan was knocked away by a defender into McCabe's path and his powerful drive found the top corner from 20 yards.

Teemore though would respond well and knock over two late points from McCaffrey and Fitzpatrick to tie the contest at 0-8 to 1-5 by half time.

Into the second half and a few wasteful forays forward from Belcoo allowed Teemore to move three clear with McCaffrey, Fitzpatrick and corner back Damian Lee all notching points. Belcoo would take some fifteen minutes to register a first score of the half and it would be a goal. Shane McCabe's ball over the top to Paul McGrath seen McGrath beat the last defender and roll the ball into the corner.

Over the closing stages with the sides level every ball was ferociously contested as both sides knew the importance of this game. Up stepped Belcoo captain Ciaran Flaherty to fired over a super score on the run and moments later Niall McGovern did the same from the right wing. These two scores were crucial to securing the victory as time now became Teemore's enemy.

Teemore would cut the deficit to one as centre back Joey Donegan landed his second score of the day but it would be Belcoo's Aaron Dolan who secured the win late on after he drove in from the right to fist a point which sealed a two point victory on a 2-8 to 0-12 scoreline.
