U12 Edged Out In Final

U12 LEAGUE FINAL: St. Joseph's 4-10 (18) v 5-4 (14) Belcoo
Belcoo would be edged out in the 4th Quarter as St. Joseph's came from 3points down to secure the League title with a 4points to spare. The wind was a crucial factor throughout with the side having it winning their quarter handsomely and with the elements in their favour for the final quarter St. Joseph's done enough to beat a gallant Belcoo effort.

The O'Rahilly's had the wind in Quarter 1 and would hold a 2-2 to 1-0 lead. Oran McCann registering a goal and point with Dara Flanagan plundering a goal and Lawrence McKeown registering a point from distance. Aine Walsh grabbed Ederney's goal while Jamie Ray was forced into a good save to deny another goal.
In Quarter 2 Ederney were now playing with the wind and would register 2-3 without conceding to lead 3-3 to 2-2 at half time. Ryan Maguire knocking over three points for his side but Belcoo remained in well in the contest with Ciana McGrath and Oisin O'Loughlin doing well in defence along with Colum Higgins who have been introduced to the game to keep the score down.
Belcoo would take command of Quarter 3 and held Ederney scoreless. The O'Rahilly's again hitting 2-2 as Josh Killilea drilled two shots to the net while Oran McCann and Lawrence McKeown pointed. Belcoo would enter the last Quarter leading 4-4 (12) to 3-3 (9) and they would register an early goal against the breeze when Dara Flanagan netted to move them five clear. Ederney however would pen Belcoo back in their half for most of the period and hit an unanswered 1-7 to turn the game in their favour. Ryan Maguire, the St. Joseph's captain again was lethal in front of goal hitting five points, three of which were from play before Dara McKenna fired past Jamie Ray for a goal.
Belcoo battled back and finished the game in the Ederney half trying to find a goal to bring them back into the tie. A number of blocked efforts seen the O'Rahilly's get a few 45's but it wasn't to be and Ederney held on for a 4-10 (18) to 5-4 (14) win.

In the other fixture Ederney also emerged victorious despite the best efforts of Patrick Martin, Ben McNulty, Sean Boylan, Daniel O'Connor, Ciatlin McAllister, Jack Greene, Cian White and Eimear Magee.
