Seniors Secure Division 1 Status
Nov. 22, 2015
SENIOR LEAGUE 1B: Belcoo 0-13 v 0-10 Lisnaskea
Division 1 status was secured in today's penultimate league fixture following a 0-13 to 0-10 victory over Lisnaskea. It was far from pretty but it was a case of job done for the O'Rahilly's.

Belcoo began brightly and quickly clipped over two points, Jonathan Feeley with a close range free and Ciaran Flaherty with a great 45. Belcoo though lost their way during the middle part of the half and Daniel Kille fired over four points in as many minutes, the first and fourth fine efforts from play.
Lisnaskea continued to impress and cut open the Belcoo defence on two more occasions, Shane O'Hara and Tom Clarke electing to take points when goals were on.
Belcoo would eventually register again and halt the visitors dominant spell. Aaron Dolan the score taker but Niall McElroy would see red for Lisnaskea in an off the ball incident and Belcoo would rally late in the half, John Carrigan plucking a high ball and firing over before James McGrath released Paul McGrath to feed Aaron Dolan for a close range point. Half time: Belcoo 0-5 v 0-6 Lisnaskea.
The visitors introduced the lively Ryan O'Keefe at the interval, he was into the action immediately with an incisive run and pass setting up Daniel Kille for a score. O'Keefe added a point himself as his side pushed three clear again.
Belcoo though would respond well as they began to turn midfield. John Carrigan, Niall McGovern, Christopher Leonard and James McGrath all working well in middle third to keep the ball in the Lisnaskea half. Aaron Dolan was first to raise the white flag in the second period for his side. Two close range frees between the posts for Feeley to tap over levelled matters.
Daniel Kille once more registered but a long punt from James McGrath bounced over the bar to tie the game again, Gerard Mellor claiming a flick, the full forward was effective all game after his early introduction for the injured Ciaran Flaherty.
Some good work from John Carrigan yielded a free to put Belcoo ahead, Feeley again clipping over a routine effort before Aaron Dolan drilled a shot over the bar to give Belcoo a two point advantage.
A great block from John Woods denied Paul McGrath a goal, the resulting 45 was slotted over by Dolan and at three clear with 7 minutes to play, Belcoo were looking good and went on to keep the ball in the closing stages.
O'Keefe would cut the deficit but Paul McGrath knocked over the final point of the game from play to seal a three point win for the O'Rahilly's.
