Comfortable win for Juniors
May. 8, 2010
The Juniors enjoyed a 3-15 to 0-10 victory over Derrylin on Saturday evening in Belcoo. Right from the start Belcoo got into grove of scoring and it was Nevan Higgins who opened their account before Gary Maguire and two Ashley Sherrin points ensured a good start for Belcoo.
Shain Gallagher fired over Belcoo next point but a Paddy McGinley goal and two more Ashely Sherrin points put Belcoo into a commanding position in a game they never looked like losing. The final score of the half was to be a second Belcoo goal, this time it was Gary Maguire who found the net. Derrylin only registered 5 points in the first period and it was Barry Murray who done the majority of the scoring. Half Time: Belcoo 2-7 Derrylin 0-5.
The Second half was similar to the first as Belcoo knocked over numerous points from play, Stephen Nolan popped up for one, while Christopher Leonard and Gerard Mellor both got two while Nevan Higgins scored his second point of the game. A second Paddy McGinley goal in the closing stages was sandwiched between Stephen Nolan and Kieran Conlon points as Belcoo eased to victory.
Next week they face Teemore in Belcoo on Saturday evening at 6.30pm. This will be a difficult assignment as Teemore have won every game so far this season but Belcoo will be full of confidence as the remain unbeaten with 3 wins and 2 draws.
