Belcoo though eventually sorted themselves and put together a good move that led to Lawrence McKeown banging in the first of his eight goals of the night. Conor McKeown made a great run to collect a well placed kickout from Jamie Ray out on the left wing. Oisin Leonard, Emmett McGuinness and Oisin O'Loughlin well all involved in a slick passage of play that created the chance which McKeown dispatched to the net when through on goal.

Lawrence McKeown was to rattle two more goals in as many minutes before Maguiresbridge hit their second goal. 2-4 to 3-0 the home side led after 18mins.

Belcoo tightened defensively over the final 10minutes of the half, Oisin Leonard and Cormac McHugh turning over some great ball with Emmett McGuinness and Gerry Nolan making blocks while Ben McNulty was having a super game in the full back line, cutting out attacks and dispossessing his man.

Lawrence McKeown slotted in a fourth goal after a poor kickout and the points soon began to flow for the O’Rahilly’s. A first we flag of the evening was raised on 19minutes, Josh Killilea looped round for a recycled pass to slot over a neat score before Oran McCann curled one over from the left side.

Cormac McHugh flicked a high ball into the net as Patrick Martin's effort dropped into the area. Maguiresbridge were to respond with Tommy McGrory pointing but Belcoo remained on top coming to the interval. Two quick points by Lawrence McKeown were followed up with a goal by younger brother Conor who arrived late at the back post to gather and shoot to the net. Half time 6-4 to 2-5.

Cormac McHugh holds tight as he plots his next move

Maguiresbridge penned back Belcoo for a full three minutes at the start of the second half but some latch ditch defending by substitute Dara Flanagan, Mark Ferguson and Jamie Ray between the sticks kept the hosts at bay. The O'Rahilly's broke downfield with Emmett McGuinness and Conor McKeown who set Cormac McHugh away for a drilled point. Lawrence McKeown kicked two more points having been supplied good passes by Patrick Martin and Conor McKeown before the goal trail was hit again.

Jack Greene fired in a great goal on 38minutes however the hosts went downfield and won a penalty which Luca McCusker duly dispatched past Ray for 7-7 to 3-5 at that juncture.

Josh Killilea would knock in the next goal after good work by the McKeown brothers while he jinked in from the right wing to slot a good point. The bridge kept plugging away and Odhran McGoldrick went on a long run before firing to the net while the hosts found another three pointer soon after. 8-8 to 5-5.
