Reserves Into Championship Semi Final

RESERVE 'B' CHAMPIONSHIP: Belcoo 2-11 v 1-7 Derrygonnelly
The Reserves booked a place in the Championship Semi Final with a 2-11 to 1-7 win over Derrygonnelly this evening in Kinawley. Having put themselves in a commanding position at the interval they struggled for long periods of the second half as the Harps battled their way back into the tie but a late rally seen them advance to the next round.

Things went well for the O'Rahilly's in the first 30minutes as they led 1-7 to 0-1 at the break. James McGourty opening the scoring having got on the end of a patient bit of play to angle over from the right wing. Brian Cox, who was at the hub of all his sides best work in the middle of the park, worked a one two to clip over another good point before Niall Cullen and Seimi Rafferty combined on the left to create a goal for Gary Maguire who fired to the net. 1-2 to no score 13minutes in.
Rafferty was heavily involved for Belcoo before being forced off coming to half time with a hamstring injury. He was to feed Niall Cullen for two well taken scores while a great move should have seen Gary Maguire net a second goal but the Harps ‘keeper was off his line to capitalise on some hesitancy from the forward.
Seimi Rafferty was on the ball plenty before going off injured
Derrygonnelly broke downfield and created a goal chance of their own but the attacker fired straight at Gary Doherty. Ruairi Fee would open the Harps account with a fine point from play on 24minutes but Belcoo finished the half with three more.
Gary Maguire with the first after Brian Cox had sprayed a racking crossfield ball into James Gillespie who gathered and slipped to Maguire. Ian Corrigan provided the assist for Maguire's next point while Brendan McPartland broke from defence to play a few one twos with Brian Cox before Cox drilled over. 1-7 to 0-1 at the break.
Ryan McGovern breaks from the defence
Derrygonnelly would completely dominate things for 15minutes in the second half. Belcoo couldn't get out from the back and continued to lose the ball all too regularly. Declan Leonard though remained steadfast at full back in the face of the Harps onslaught. Four in a row from the Harps had them back in the contest and substitute Jonathan McGurn went close with a goal chance as it moved into the final quarter at 1-7 to 0-5.
Belcoo awoke from their slumber and worked a point from Gary Maguire before they put together their best move of the night to register a second goal. Martin Corrigan making a great turnover in the defence. The ball with went through the hands of James McAloon, Brian Cox and Gary Maguire before Ian Corrigan came off the shoulder to coolly float the ball into the top left hand corner giving the keeper no chance to save.
Brendan McPartland takes Belcoo upfield
A neat one two between Aidan McGrath and Maguire seen the latter land a point but the Harps kept plugging away and were to hit a quick 1-2 however two late points from Niall Cullen secured the win.
The downer on the night was injuries to Rafferty, Ryan McGovern, Martin Corrigan and James Gillespie who all had to be replaced before the finish.
