Senior Ladies Returns To Belcoo
Mar. 25, 2018
Senior Ladies Football Returned to the Club on Sunday Morning when our Ladies made the long trip to Aughadrumsee, they were to go down 5-15 to 1-3 to a strong home side but there was plenty to be encouraged by. The Ladies worked hard and for a number of them it was their first competitive outing ever and for others, their first game in a long number of year. There are a half dozen Ladies transferring back to the club in the coming weeks to strengthen the side.
On the game itself, Aughdrumsee began well and pinned Belcoo back, they had hit 2-10 before Linda McGovern raised the white flag with the score of the game from the right wing after good work by Lisa Stewart.
Leona McNulty and Chloe Dolan were battling gamely at the back with Courtney Ray busy between the stick. Stacey McCabe, Lana Shiels and Lisa Stewart were getting through plenty of work in the middle sector with Aoife Keaney and Linda McGovern up top.

Linda was on fire early in the second half, adding 1-2 to her tally, again good work by Stewart and McCabe created the scores. Emma McNulty was getting stuck in while Kira McGovern did well having been re-introduced. Courtney Ray was called on to make some great saves in the second half also while Leona McNulty continued to impress at the back but Aughadrumsee finished strongly to claim a handsome win.
