Jun. 16, 2010
The Belcoo Minors started the season with a defeat at the hands of Kinawley in Belcoo on Wednesday evening.
A sluggish start seen Belcoo trail 1-4 to no score after 12minutes. On a number of ventures forward Belcoo couldn't find the target as numerous shots dropped short and others went wide. It wasn't until the 21st minute when Belcoo registered their first score. It was a own goal from a Kinawley defender as a Philip Leonard 45 sparked a goalmouth scramble which led to the defender putting the ball past his own keeper as he attempted to clear.
This goal started Belcoo's best period of the game and before half time they had racked up three points, Aaron Leonard kicked a good score on his left foot and two well taken Aaron Dolan points seen Belcoo go in the the break trailing 1-6 to 1-3.
