SENIORS: Derrygonnelly 1-14 Belcoo 1-13

Belcoo have been knocked off the top of the league for the first time this season following a one point defeat to Derrygonnelly on Sunday afternoon, with Roslea winning 2-21 to 1-4 against Erne Gaels the Shamrocks have taken over at the summit of the Fermanagh Senior League Division 1.
The sides were level on a number of occasions in the opening quarter with John Carrigan and Barry McGrath trading free kicks, also Ronan Ferguson and Neil Gallagher registering points from play for both sides. Ferguson and Carrigan added another score each for Belcoo while two Barry McGrath frees left the score at 0-4 to 0-4 after 20minutes.
A counter attack from Belcoo involving Declan Leonard, Niall McGovern and Ronan Ferguson lead to Brian Cox finding the net close to half time. They almost had a second goal moments later when Paul McGrath broke through however Dermot Feeley made an good right handed save to push the ball out for a 45. Ciarán Flaherty pointed the resulting 45 to put Belcoo 4 points in front. Kevin Cassidy kicked a point for Derrygonnelly to send the teams in at the break with Belcoo leading 1-5 to 0-5.
John Carrigan (2), Ciarán Flaherty and Niall McGovern all registered points for Belcoo while Ryan Jones responsed with two points for the home side at the beginning of the second half. With Belcoo leading by 5, Derrygonnelly were gifted a goal 10 minutes into the half, John Carrigan fumbled a pass from James McGrath in front of his own goals and a Derrygonnelly forward had an easy tap in to kickstart their revival.
The game was now been played at a hectic pace and with the score at 1-9 to 1-7 and with 20minutes remaining, the game was really up for grabs. Ryan Jones knocked over two frees while Brian Cox and substitute Jonathan Feeley kept Belcoo ahead with well taken scores.
Derrygonnelly then hit a purple patch as three quickfire scores from Kevin Cassidy and Ryan Jones (2) gave the home side the lead. John Carrigan levelled before Cassidy got another, Stephen Maguire then levelled before Jones popped over a long distance point to leave it 1-14 to 1-13 entering the final few moments.
Belcoo's Paul McGrath should really have levelled the game at the death but his attempted point hit the outside of the post and went wide. Another late Belcoo attack was twarted as Derrygonnelly hung on to win by the smallest of margins. As a result Derrygonnelly find themselves tied with Lisnaskea in 4th position on 18points, with Devenish in 3rd on 19points, Belcoo in 2nd on 21points and Roslea on top with 22points.
