Senior Championship Preview

Aug. 5, 2011

BELCOO v TEEMORE

Brewster Park, Enniskillen @ 2pm Sunday 7th August 2011

Belcoo and Teemore lock horns in the Preliminary Round of this years Senior Championship on Sunday in Brewster Park and having looked at the previous league meetings between these two sides, we could well be in for a very tight affair. In the last four meeting Belcoo and Teemore both won one game while there has been two draws.

Past 4 Meetings:

10/10/10 Belcoo 2-6 v 2-7 Teemore

17/07/10 Teemore 0-12 v 0-16 Belcoo

04/10/09 Belcoo 1-11 v 2-8 Teemore

31/05/09 Teemore 0-10 v 0-10 Belcoo

Current Form:

Belcoo have been producing moments of good play this season however they have been largely inconsistent having won just 4 of the 12 league matches to date. They are right in the relegation dogfight but league form has very little bearing on Championship Day. Belcoo play a stylish, slick passing game but they have the option of the vastly experience Stephen Maguire on the edge of the square if required. This group of Belcoo players are still looking to register their first win in a Championship match and they will hope they can toast a win come Sunday afternoon.

Teemore on the other hand have had a great start to the year in Divison 2 as they look to bounce straight back up following relegation last season. They are a side who have been winning games all year and they have plenty of Championship pedigree and experience. As with all Teemore teams down through the year, this team is dogged and determined and they have blooded a few youngsters to go with the strong core of players who have been there and done that. Teemore will play a rather direct brand of football and the physical strength they possess may cause Belcoo problems. They will fancy their chances of causing an upset this weekend.

All in all, it should make for an interest game.
