U21's Advance to League Final

Dec. 5, 2011

The Belcoo Under 21's secured a League Final place following a 1-13 to 1-6 victory away to Kinawley on a blustery Sunday afternoon. Both sides were without key forwards as Tomas & Ruairi Corrigan were unavailable for Kinawley whilst Jonathan Feeley, Ronan Ferguson and Patrick Burns were all carrying injuries from Belcoo's last outing.

The weather conditions meant that the quality on show wasn't the greatest but Belcoo managed to keep the opposition at a distance throughout. For the visiting side it was Stephen Nolan who found the net while Philip Leonard and Brian Cox accounted for the majority of points with defenders Niall Cullen and Martin Corrigan also chipping in a score each.

Ryan Leonard and James Stewart proved a solid back line however Patrick Sweeney in the Belcoo goals was forced to make 3 great saves to provent Kinawley registering goals.

Belcoo now advance into the Final against St. Patricks. The game is likely to be played next Sunday, 11th December at 2pm. A venue has yet to be arranged.
