Beastly Competition awaits this weekend

Jun. 15, 2017

The schedule is out for the weekend, and it is packed with really good teams that can all challenge for a championship. The field is littered with former tournament winners, and solid teams who have challenged in every tournament they've played in this year. It is an exciting last tournament for us until we play in the Summer National Championships tournament to close the baseball season.

Up first we have the Team 24 Gamecocks at 9am bright and early. They're a really good program all around, so as usual we will have to do some heavy lifting to be able to get past them. Immediately after this game, we play the SBA Canes 8u team. It's always good to see teams you haven't played before, so this should be a fun one. Please be at Martha Rivers, Field #4 at 8:15am Saturday morning. We will get some swings in the batting cage, as well as do a little bit of throwing and fielding before playing the game. Please be on time.

We had a pretty good practice yesterday all around, and hope we can continue that trend into the weekend. Happy Father's Day weekend to all of our dads, grandpaws and step-dads on the team. As I've stated before, some of the best things you can do is show up, believe in your boy and encourage them to keep trying. We have a lot of men like that around our team, and I know your player loves seeing you show up and be interested in what they are doing.

I look forward to everyone being together again this weekend, and maybe the boys will try and win one for their old man. It will be hot this weekend, but we expect the boys to be tough and leave the excuses at home. It is time to attempt to put together a few games of complete pitching, defense, baserunning and hitting. I hope we can do it. Let's make these last games of the summer even more memorable by playing great, cheering louder than ever and having the most fun possible.
