It is with great pride that the Blackhawks announce Lliam Webster as the Head Coach for the 2013 IHV winter season.

Lliam comes to the club with great enthusiasm and vision for the future.

By way of hockey background, Lliam has been involved with ice hockey in Victoria for about 18 years, playing with the Jets at both junior & senior level as well as with the Melbourne Ice since its inception.  He has represented both Victoria and Australia at all levels and this year will mark his tenth year on the National Senior Team which in the past week he was also named as Captain.  Lliam has also spent time playing and living in Canada, Finland, and Germany.

The club sees Lliam as a person of the highest quality and integrity who has had great success in his ice hockey career.  He has maintained his drive and thirst for success and continues through being a part of gold medal winning teams at National & International levels.

Lliam brings great qualities to the club and we welcome him, wishing him continued success and hope he can help bring the club back to the top of the ladder.

Along with the appointment of Lliam Webster as Head Coach, owing to the departure of Nick Glass to continue his work/study inQueensland, the club has appointed Nick Trusewicz as Assistant Coach / Reserves Coach for the upcoming season.

Nick takes over the role having coached both Ice Hockey and Inline Hockey since 2002.  He has played with the club at both prem A & Reserves level since coming to us in the 2009 draft from the Saints-Monarchs.

Nick takes over the Reserves coaching role with an impressive resume of experience having been coach or assistant coach at various levels including IHV Junior Elite, IHV Tange, AWIHL & AJIHL and under the tutelage of Blackhawks Doug Stevenson & Lee Brown.

The club would like to thank Nick Glass for his efforts both playing and coaching over the past couple of years and wish him the best with his endeavours up north.

The club also has re-appointed Gene Campbell and Ryan Bingham as coaches of the Premier C1 & C2 respectively.  They both did an outstanding job in the roles last year and were keen to continue on.  Over the short history of these grade levels, there has been significant growth and coaching in them creates a number of unique challenges.  Gene & Ryan both bring their own styles and enthusiasm to the roles and although scoreboard and finals success has eluded them so far, with these quality men in charge, it won't be far away.

The club wants to thank all our appointed coaches and wish them good luck for the upcoming season.  We hope it is a successful one.
