SAD PASSING OF PAST PLAYER

May. 1, 2013

This week we learnt of the sad passing of one of our club's former great players and guy's - Rob Van Exan - who was affectionately known around the club as Axe.

Axe came to the club in the early 80's and played predominantly as a goalie where he was known to weild his stick in a fashion that may have born a resemblance to his nickname.

The versatility that Rob displayed also led to him playing as a defenceman including in the 1984 drought-breaking premiership.

Rob had a great sense of humour and was loved by many at the club.

The players will wear black armbands this week in rememberance of Rob and as a sign of respect to his family.
