Swarm re-match with Titans, go 0-7
Jul. 11, 2017
The Chillicothe Swarm were on the road this weekend in a rematch against the Midwest Titans. After giving up the first score of the game, the Swarm answered back with a 43 yard TD pass from Clayton Dahlberg to WR Tanner Johnson. Shortly after that, an interception by defensive back, Savioun Sullivan put the Swarm in the drivers seat for the first time all season but they were un able to capitalize on turnover. The Swarm defense did hold on some drive stopping plays, while LBs Michael Smith and Matthew Musto lead the Swarm with 8 tackles a piece. Once again the Swarm showed there competitiveness between the 20s, but failed to put drives away. While the defense continues to improve, Titans WR Damond Berry, put on a show. The 6' 210 pound WR scored three TDs to lead the Titans victory over the Swarm. With two weeks left in the season, WR Tanner Johnson, out of Cameron, Mo., leads the league in kick returns, kick return yards and all purpose yards, with 831 after seven games. LB Michael Smith has six blocked kicks so far this season. The Chillicothe Swarm have taken their "year one lumps" with courage and it has not gone unnoticed by their opponents. The league nominated four Swarm players by mid-season, CB Chris Robinson, Kansas City MO, LB Michael Smith, Chillicothe MO, OT/DL Daniel Smith, Chillicothe MO, and WR Tanner Johnson, Cameron MO. All-Star nominations are on going through the end of the regular season and All-Star selections will come following the end of the regular season.
