The Silver Team holds a 2-1 Blue/Silver World Series lead over the Blue Team after defeating them 12-0 yesterday. Game 4 of the series has been bumped up to tomorrow, September 27 at 3:15 pm. There will be no Fall Baseball Activities on Thursday, September 28.
Game 1 of the Blue/Silver World Series begins today at (approximately) 3:15. Here are some game notes for families/fans interested in attending:
The purpose of the BSWS is to instruct our players while observing them and assessing their skills in game-like situations. Please be mindful and respectful of our coaching staff as they umpire, instruct, and evaluate our athletes during the game. While we hope to promote a healthily, competitive environment, intrasquad games are about instruction, not egos.
ONLY school personel is permitted to park inside the fenced in areas of the baseball facility. Parking is available in the student lot in front of the school, as well as along "Courtland Drive." There is no spectator parking "up top," per school policy.
We are beginning to implement the "Cougar Way" which includes teaching incoming players our policies and procedures. Please allow coaches to coach, players to play, and allow what is going on inside the fence to take care of itself. Water is available to players inside the dugout and it is against team policy for them to leave the playing field to retrieve items from family members. Nor should items be passed over or around the fence. Thank you for your support in this.
We look forward to seeing you and watching our players compete!
The seventh annual, Blue versus Silver World Series schedule can now be viewed on the Events Calendar page. Game 1 will be a five inning game played on Wednesday, September 20. First pitch is (tentatively) scheduled for 3:15 pm. Game 2, a four inning contest will take place on Thursday, September 21 at (tentatively) 3:15 pm. Games 3-7 will all be seven inning games, all beginning at tentatively 3:15 pm on their respective dates. Families are welcome to view the intrasquad series from the bleachers at legendary Rick Holcomb Field. There is no admission charge. No concessions will be available.
The Blue Team, coached by Coach Acors is 5-1 All-Time in BSWS play. They look to rebound from the throttling they took at the hands of Coach Means' Silver Team in the fall of 2016.
