Cougar Cubs Rally Late Against Massaponax

The Cougar Cubs trailed the host Panthers of Massaponax yesterday afternoon heading into the final frame but rallied with three runs to win, 7-4.

Sophomore right-hander, Jakob Glunt started on the bump for the Cougar Cubs.  He worked four solid innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits, while striking out four.  He gave way in the fifth to sophomore righty, Cole Ely who allowed two earned on five hits in two innings of work.  Ely picked up his first victory of the 2017 season.  Freshman right-hander, Ty Lowe pitched a scoreless seventh, earning the save for the Cougar Cubs.

At the plate, sophomore outfielder, Noah Breivik went 2-4 with a run scored.  Owen Reilly added a hit and scored twice.  Ely, Ethan Critz, and Dustin Gough had one hit apiece and each scored a run.  Ely drove in two runs on the day while Addie BurrowJakob GluntJoe Keller, and Caolan Walsh had an RBI each.

The Cougar Cubs (2-1, 0-0) return home on Tuesday, March 28 and take on Colonial Beach at 4:30 pm.
