Lowe Closes Out Championship Season in Dominate Fashion

Box Score

May. 22, 2018

Sophomore right-hander, Ty Lowe went the distance on the mound in the JV Championship game yesterday afternoon.  Lowe started on the mound when the game began on May 15 and picked up right where he left off, tossing three scoreless to finish the complete game shutout of the Chargers of Chancellor.  Lowe scattered four hits, struck out eight and walked three en route to the 9-0 victory for the Cougars.

At the plate, Lowe went 2-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.  Sophomore first baseman, Aidan Forster went 2-3 with a double and two RBI.  Freshman infielder, Trey Burton also added two hits.  Sophomores, Chaz Snead and Owen Reilly each scored two runs for the Cougar Cubs.

The JV Cougars finish their season with a 15-4 overall record and win the second consecutive JV Championship for the program.  Their 10-1 record in District play gives them an 18-3 record in the Battlefield over the past two seasons.

Coach Acors on the completion of the JV season- "We are so proud of our young guys for not only their success on the baseball field in 2018, but the way they conduct themselves in the school building and how they represent our program in the community.  We are certain that our program is in good hands moving forward because of the complete buy-in we are receiving from our underclassmen.  The sky is the limit for this group as we continue to build, brick by brick.  We are going to savor our second straight JV title and get back to work this fall on continuing the winning tradition."
