Welcome to Freebird Soccer!

From 2011 to 2015, Freebird Soccer (FS) was the only all girls youth soccer club in Kansas City’s Northland.  This independent club was established to be affordable, family-friendly, and drama-free.

The Freebird philosophy was to build and grow competitive soccer teams by helping each player maximize her own ability.  The goal was for players to not only have fun with the game of soccer, but also develop a team-oriented and winning mindset that would benefit them on and off the field.

In the summer of 2015, Freebird Soccer merged with FS Kansas City.  For more information on FCKC, click here.

Jul 13, 2015 - FORMER FREEBIRD COACH KATE HELPS USA WOMEN'S RUGBY SEVENS WIN SILVER AT PAN AM GAMES!

Former Freebird Coach Kate Zackary (second from right) and her US Women's Rugby Sevens teammates wave to the crowd at the Pan Am Games

Toronto, Canada - Former Freebird Coach Kate Zackary and the USA Women's Rugby Sevens earned Silver medals after an impressive weekend of play at the Pan Am games.  Despite losing to the top-ranked host nation in the preliminaries, the US squad otherwise went undefeated and earned a rematch in the finals.

After an early deficit against the Americans, Canada stormed back to victory.  But despite the loss, Kate and the US squad look forward to Rio 2016 and the debut of rugby sevens at the Olympics.

All of us at Freebird Soccer are very proud of "Coach Kate" and happy for her success.  We wish her the best of luck as she and her squad look forward to Rio!

Jun 2, 2015 - HAWKS BLUE FINISH AS DIVISION RUNNERS-UP BY CRUSHING KANSAS RUSH ACADEMY 3-0!

Saturday, May 30 - The Freebird Hawks Blue traveled to a muddy and wet Heritage Soccer Park for their spring season finale against Kansas Rush Academy 02/03.  On the line for the two U12 squads was Second Place in Heartland's U13 Division 1.  Sure, each team had excuses for subpar play, with the Hawks not having played in 3 weeks (and missing a starting defender), while Rush was in the midst of the Kansas State Cup.  But the two adversaries came out and battled hard, displaying speed, skill, and physical play.  One team, however, had a decided edge in every category.  That team - the Freebird Hawks Blue - showcased lockdown defense, opportunistic offense, and spectacular playmaking as they crushed Rush Academy 3-0!
