Welcome to Freebird Soccer!
Freebird Soccer (FS) is an alliance of independent youth girls soccer teams in Kansas City’s northland. Freebird Soccer was established in the summer of 2011 to be affordable, family-friendly, and drama-free.
Our philosophy is to build and grow competitive soccer teams by helping each player maximize her own ability. We want our players to not only have fun with the game of soccer, but also develop a team-oriented and winning mindset that will benefit them on and off the field.

Nov 17, 2013 - FREEBIRD FUN AT THE 2ND ANNUAL MICE DERBY FUNDRAISER!
Saturday, November 16 - Last night, well over 200 supporters of Freebird Soccer attended the second annual Mice Derby Fundraiser. The turnout not only exceeded last year's event, but early indications are that even more money was raised this year for the club!
It was a fun night of delicious BBQ, cold beverages, fantastic raffle items, and good old fashioned mouse racing! Thank you to all of our Freebird families who helped set up, organize, and clean up after the Derby. A special thanks goes out to St. Patrick's Church, who hosted this special event, as well as to all of our wonderful sponsors listed below:
Nov 9-10 (Belton, MO) - Congratulations to the Freebird Eagles, who finished off a tremendous fall season by winning the Southside Shootout! After rolling to a 3-0 record - outscoring their opponents by a 15-3 count - the Eagles faced off against the host KC Prime Elite Stingrays. Overcoming a 2-0 deficit and some highly questionable officiating, the Eagles stormed back to defeat the Stingrays 4-3 and win their first tournament championship!
Nov 8, 2013 - FREEBIRD SOCCER CONCLUDES ANOTHER FANTASTIC SEASON!
Freebird Soccer wrapped up another excellent season as several squads took home some championship hardware. Many of our teams experienced the challenges with travel and top-level competition in the Heartland League, while some continued to challenge themselves by competing up in age. There were brand new Freebird teams that experienced the usual growing pains, while others had to fight through sickness and injury.
Despite all of these obstacles, Freebird teams played hard and provided several special moments throughout the fall season.
Congratulations to the following FS teams for their first or second place finishes this fall!
U11 Falcons: Undefeated Heartland U11 D2 Runners-Up
U11 Eagles: Heartland U11 D3 Runners-Up
U8 Vangas Blue: KCML U8 A1 Division Champions
Nov 3, 2013 - VANGAS BLUE WIN GIRLS HEARTLAND INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT!
Nov 1-3 (Overland Park) - Congratulations to the Freebird Vangas Blue, who won the top U8 division at the Heartland Invitational Tournament ("HIT") for girls. After rolling to a 3-0 record in pool play, the Vangas defeated the OPSC Lightning 3-0 in the championship game. What a fantastic way for Coach Emily and the Vangas to finish off a highly successful fall season!
Oct 30, 2013 - RAVENS BLUE PLAY WELL IN SEASON FINALE DEFEAT
Sunday, October 20 - The Freebird Ravens Blue wrapped up their fall league season with a battle against KC Fusion Watts. Though they dug themselves into a 2-0 hole, they continued to fight throughout the game. In the end, the KC Fusion team was a bit too much for the Ravens on this day, pulling out a 3-1 victory. However, Coach Duke was happy with the overall play and effort of the Ravens, who showed they were ready to move on from their disappointing tournament experience the week before.
Sunday, October 20 - The Freebird Eagles wrapped up their most successful season ever with a 3-0 victory over Sporting Blue Valley Osasuna. The victory - their 5th straight to end the season - gave them a 6-1-1 record and second place in U11's Division 3 of the Heartland League.
Oct 29, 2013 - FALCONS FINISH UNDEFEATED SEASON WITH 5-0 SHUTOUT WIN!
Sunday, October 20 - Nailing down their 5th shutout of the season, the Freebird Falcons completed an undefeated season with a 5-0 victory over Sporting Blue Valley Villarreal! With timely scoring and their usual lockdown defense, the Falcons did a fantastic job of dominating the squad from Overland Park.
