Aug 5, 2013 - End of the Year Notes
Well, the first annual Grizzlies Awards Banquet is in the books, and it was a huge success - thank you everyone for attending!
We had many players, coaches, family, friends, volunteers, and fans attend! The food provided by the Watering Hole was awesome, Ben and his staff did a great job!
Here are the award winners voted on by the players last night:
Special Teams Player of the Year - Jason Kitk...owski
Defensive Rookie of the Year - Henry Salazar
Most Improved Defensive Player of the Year - Brian Linzmeier
Defensive Player of the Year - Shane Brunner
Offensive Rookie of the Year - Chris Burdick
Most Improved Offensive Player of the Year - Andrew Heyrman
Offensive Player of the Year - Kenny Harvey
Utility Player of the Year - Justin Baker
MVP - Jake Pechauer
Our team All Stars are: Jake Pechauer, Justin Baker, Ben Berg, Lee Rios, and Kurt Guilette.
Our All Star Sportsman of the Year is Henry Salazar

Volunteer of the Year Award - The Shafel Family - Kevin, Muriah, and Dylan Shafel (Dylan is also our outstanding Equipment Manager). We couldn't have run this team without these wonderful people, they have done so much for us, and we are very lucky they are part of our organization.
Most Sponsors by a Player - Shane Brunner (Shane picked up the Watering Hole, our major sponsor, who will also be sponsoring us again next year - Thanks Shane and Ben!)
Perfect Attendance Award - Henry Salazar, who attended all practices and games, that's dedication!!!
The Biggest Heart Award - Pamanet Sackatook - Way to go Sack, you truly deserve it!!!!
Again, we just want to thank all of our coaches-Head Coach - Bob Wery, Special Teams Coach - Dave Goheen, Chris Maccaux - Defensive Coach, and Pat Hockers - Offensive Coach, for their awesome coaching skills this season that lead us to our very first Championship game in our very first season. And also a thank you to their families as well for putting up with their absence this season, plus their families were always there supporting us as well, and we really appreciate that.
Thanks to all of our awesome and dedicated players and their families as well, you all give a lot of time and also give up a lot of time for the Grizzly Family, we appreciate it very much!
Thanks to all of our volunteers out there, you guys rock, and we couldn't have done this without all of your help, we appreciate you all very much!!!
We hope we didn't leave anyone out, thanks again for everything!!!!
Lastly, a special THANK YOU to all of our awesome Grizzlies fans out there, you made this all worth while, those stands were packed every game, can't wait to see all of you next season!!! More cowbell!!!
Jul 22, 2013 - Season Ending
Well it was a great first season to say the least, but the Grizzlies came up short in the championship game losing 14-3 to the Appleton Knights on Saturday. The Grizzlies finished the season with the final record of 8-3. We thank all of the fans, sponsors, volunteers, and anyone else who made this season such a success, and hope to see all of you next year! And if any of you still want to watch some football, some of our players play fall football for the Manitowoc County Mariners, Door County Destroyers, and Sheboygan County Rebels so make sure to support those teams as well!
Jul 8, 2013 - Grizzlies Lock Up #1 Seed
And the Grizzlies take the #1 seed! After the Grizzlies beat the Appleton Knights 31-19 on Saturday to close out the regular season, they also locked up the #1 seed going into the playoffs. The Grizzlies will play the U.P. Arctic Blast here in Green Bay at 1:00 pm Saturday for the first round of playoffs, while the Marshfield Sharks travel to Appleton to take on the Knights. We hope to see everyone on Saturday to watch the first playoff game in Green Bay Grizzlies history!
Jul 1, 2013 - Last Regular Season Home Game
On Saturday the Grizzlies took on the Marshfield Sharks here in Green Bay and came away with a 44-6 victory! The Grizzlies improve to 6-2 and a tie for the league lead with the Appleton Knights. The Grizzlies will take on the Knights this Saturday in Appleton at 7pm to close out the regular season. Hope to see everyone there! Go Grizzlies!
Jun 24, 2013 - Grizzlies Win!
On Saturday, the Grizzlies travled to Appleton to take on their leauge rival the Knights, and came away with a 14-8 victory! The Grizzlies were down 8-0 early, but battled back and scored late to come away with the "W". The Grizzlies are now 5-2, and will travel to Appleton again in 2 weeks to try and beat the Knights on their own turf for a second straight time! This week the Grizzlies take on the Marshfield Sharks at our home field of Bayview Middle School at 4pm. We know this will be a nice, clean game and we hope to see all our fans there to watch our last regular season home game! Go Grizzlies!
Jun 17, 2013 - Grizzlies Win
Thanks to all the fans who came out to watch their Green Bay Grizzlies defeat the Marshfield Sharks on Saturday by the score of 44-0! The Grizzlies improve to 4-2 overall on the season. We hope to see you all again in two weeks when we return home to face them again! This week we will be playing in Appleton against the Knights at 7pm at St. Joseph's Middle School. Jun 10, 2013 - Road Win
The Grizzlies traveled to the U.P. on Saturday to take on the Arctic Blast and came away with a 57-0 victory! Just like last time, the Blast played a clean, hard game. The Grizzlies improve to 3-2 on the season, and 3-1 in league play. This week the Grizzlies take on the Marshfield Sharks at Bayview Middle School. Hope to see you all there! Go Grizzlies!
