Emily Baker, former high school standout at Belleville Mennonite School, begins her first season coaching in the Indian Valley program. Baker, born and raised in Reedsville, graduated from BMS back in 2005 as a senior co-captain for the Lady Trojans. She then moved on to Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA and majored in Elementary and Special Education. After graduation in 2009 Emily eventually signed on in the Mifflin County School District where she currently is employeed as a district-wide Emotional Support teacher, with her home base being at Indian Valley Middle School. She is also currently pursuing a Master's Degree of Special Education from Grand Canyon University. In addition to loving basketball, (She's an admitted hoop fan of the Duke Blue Devils) Coach Baker is an avid runner who has completed one marathon and several half marathons. Her next marathon is this November in Philadelphia.
Coach Herto comments on Emily... "We are very excited to add Coach Baker to the staff. Her background as a person, student and basketball player are a perfect fit for our program. I know she is excited about this opportunity to be part of Lady Warrior Basketball and to work with our Jr. High players. Together with Coach Weaver, I am confident we have a staff with a lot of energy that will build our young players into the type of people and players that will make us proud to be Lady Warriors!"
