SPRING MILLS - When you get off to a 17-3 start, good things are bound to happen. That's exactly the situation that the Indian Valley girls basketball team put themselves in on Wednesday evening en route to a 61-34 Mountain League girls basketball road victory over Penns Valley.

"We got out to a quick start by jumping on them by 14," Warriors coach Roger Herto said. "The best part is that the kids never looked back and kept their intensity. I'm starting to see some things and every game we're getting a little better."

Whitney Corbin had a game-high 25 points to lead Indian Valley while Dani Treaster chipped in with 16.

"We had a great one-two punch tonight with Whitney and Dani," Herto said. "And Allie Sutton really gave us a nice lift with three threes. We need that offense from her and I thought she really had a solid game for us."

The Rams took the junior varsity game by a 43-29 count. Brooke Seler scored nine points to lead the locals.

Indian Valley (3-2, 2-1) is back in action on Monday at the Judy Knorr Holiday Tournament in Berwick, against Central Columbia.
