We overcame a determined Killen side 4-3 on Saturday, extending our unbeaten run to 12 games despite having to come from behind twice. Killen broke the deadlock after a quick throw in and excellent cross which was finished past McFrederick. However, we were level moments later when Kyle McCleery exchanged passes with a Paul McGrath in midfield before sliding the ball through to Jack Kerr who brought us level with the aid of a deflection.
Killen again took the lead when we failed to clear a corner and were punished by a beautifully placed effort curled in to the far corner. It was Kerr who levelled again, this time with a close range header.
In the second half, we dominated and Sam Lindsay put us in front for the first time with an excellent header from a Justin Palmer cross. Lindsay then sealed the victory when he followed up an Alan Veitch shot to tap home. Killen did grab a late third, but we left with a deserved three points.
Our Reserve team faced Killen Reserves at Drumad and bounced back from last week’s defeat following a great overall team performance. Nathan Bryans scored an impressive hat-trick whilst Ryan Lindsay who is just back from injury also got on the score sheet.
Our 3rd team travelled to Lisnarick and unfortunately the home side proved too strong on the day, eventually claiming the points with a 5-2 win.
Our U19s were at home to Oxford Sunnyside on Saturday morning and suffered a 3-2 defeat.
Our U18s “A” faced Dergivew last Tuesday evening at the Bawnacre, and goals from Sam Lindsay, Andy Boyd, James Dunlop and Ryan Flanagan saw us squeeze past the opposition with a 4-3 win.
League action will now take a break over Christmas, our next senior fixture will be the Irish Junior Cup on the 7th January 2017 when our 1st team travel to Ballymena to face Ahoghill Thistle FC .
There was no winner of our lotto once again, numbers drawn were 3, 13, 14 and 20 with hot picks going to Gordon Elliott, Simon McMaster and Drew West, the jackpot now stands at a whopping £8,250.
Our monthly draws for October and November recently took place and winners were - October - £100 Bernie McGrath, £75 Justine Howe, £25 Mandy Vance, £25 Ian Veitch. November - £100 Clive Benson, £75 Robert Fitzpatrick, £25 Roly Mc Master, £25 Basil Beacom. Well done to all involved & thanks all for your continued support!
