MCCB ANNOUNCES SPRING SCHEDULE

This weekend the Warriors will take part in their spring season. The Warriors will take the field this Saturday, April 9th against the Crusaders of Holy Cross. The game will begin at 3 pm at Lawrence High School. On Sunday, the Warriors take on Emmanuel College in a 9 inning affair starting at 4pm. The game will be played at Warrior Baseball Diamond on the campus of Merrimack College.

CLINI RECEIVES NECBA NORTH DIVISION ALL-STAR SPOT

The Warrior's are pleased to announce that Captian Nick Clini has been anounced as a 2010 NECBA North Division All-Star. The junior catcher had a huge year at the plate, while continuing to be a steady force behind the plate. Congratulations to Nick Clini.

News Article - MERRIMACK SEASON COMES TO AN END IN VERMONT - Oct 9, 2010

On Saturday, the Warriors made the long trek to Burlington, Vermont to take on University of Vermont in their season finale. The Warriors hung tough against the undefeated Catamounts, losing 3-0. Starting pitcher Andy Teahan kept Merrimack in the game, giving up just 3 runs over 6 innings. Merrimack’s defense played perfectly behind Teahan, but the Warriors’ bats were silenced by Vermont’s starting pitcher. In the second and final game, Merrimack lost 14-4 to the Catamounts. Senior Kyle Murphy in his last game for the Warriors had a two- run double to cut Vermont’s lead to 3-2. However, the undefeated Vermont proved to be too much for the Warriors. Merrimack finished 5-7, falling just short of qualifying for the NECBA playoffs. Overall, the Warriors showed great improvement from last season, as they will begin playing again in the spring.

News Article - MC EARNS ITS FIFTH WIN BEATING UNE - Sep 29, 2010

On Wednesday, Merrimack took on the Nor’easters of University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. The Warriors got their fifth win of the season beating UNE, 12-5. The Merrimack offense received hits from Nick Clini, Kyle Murphy, and Erik Douglas. With a record of 5-5, the Warriors still have the opportunity to make the NECBA playoffs in just the club’s second year of existence. Merrimack finishes the season on Saturday, October 9th with a double header against the University of Vermont.

News Article - MERRIMACK'S WIN STREAK COMES TO AN END - Sep 26, 2010

The Warriors win streak came to an end, as Merrimack lost to Fairfield 10-0 at Crowe Field in Maynard. Ryan Pinette, Casey Cummins, and Jon Chiarelli had hits for the Warriors. Merrimack went 2-1 on the weekend and 4-5 overall. As they continue to battle for the last few playoff spots in the NECBA playoffs. The Warriors next game is September 29th at the University of New England.

News Article - WARRIORS CRUSH EMMANUEL - Sep 25, 2010

On Saturday, the Warriors took on Emmanuel College during the NECBA Showcase at Clancy Field in Lynn. Merrimack continued its winnings ways beating Emmanuel 11-1. Starting pitcher Casey Cummins received the win, as the Warrior offense barraged Emmanuel pitching. Merrimack’s 11-run onslaught was driven by Chris Ray who went 2-2 for the Warriors. The Warriors take on Fairfield on Sunday in the final game of the 2010 NECBA Showcase.

News Article - MC GETS BIGGEST WIN IN TEAM HISTORY - Sep 24, 2010

On Friday, the Warriors took the field against UNH under the lights at Breed Middle School in Lynn. Merrimack was able to defeat the Wildcats 8-4, behind starting pitcher Andy Teahan and 10 hit effort. Teahan threw 5 innings before giving way to Jon Chiarelli who was able get the last 5 outs of the game to secure the win for the Warriors. Tim Parker and Andrew Napolitano made had big hits for Merrimack, while Napolitano and shortstop Erik Douglas combined for two double plays up the middle. However, the defensive play of the game came in the top of the 7th, when third baseman Dave Desimone dove and tagged out the UNH runner on third. Upon completing the play, Desimone was cut above the eye by the cleat of the runner, but received stitches following the game. This win gave the Warriors their third of the year, and one of their most impressive in team history.
