Matt Hill both hit and pitched well for the Panthers varsity, but it wasn't enough as the Panthers varsity fell to Hewitt 5-0 at Pell City on Saturday.
Hill was hot from the plate for the Panthers varsity. Hill went 2-3. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
Hewitt's lineup had no answer for Hill. Hill held Hewitt hitless over two-thirds of an inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.
#6 recorded the win for Hewitt. He pitched seven shutout innings. #6 struck out 14, walked two and gave up four hits.

Dobbs had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Dj Bishop handled Etowah's lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Bishop allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk over five innings.
#1 got the win for Etowah. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked four and surrendered four hits.
Etowah went up for good in the first, scoring six runs on an RBI double by #8, two errors, two singles, and a steal of home by #8.
