Team Information on Upcoming Season

Feb. 25, 2011

 February 25, 2011

The following message was sent to parents regarding information on the upcoming season.  Please contact Tesha Best, the team mom, if you have any questions at 404-353-9204.

We will have pictures on Saturday, March 5th. They have not given me a time yet. As soon as I get a time, I will let you know. I have picture forms and will distribute them on Saturday following practice.

We should have our uniforms towards the end of next week. From what I'm told, I will be notifiied on the day that the are ready for pick up.Hopefully they will arrive in time for me to distribute at one of your practices on next week. If not, I will make arrangements to get them to everyone before picture day. There was a uniform upgrade to have the players' names added to the uniforms. The cost of the uniform upgrade is approximately $7 per player. Since I will be picking up uniforms, please give all monies to either me or Art Best during one of the upcoming practices. I will keep all receipts and can share this information with you at any time. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions.

Team Banner / Player Pennants:

I will need to get either a Team Banner or Player Pennants on order as soon as possible if we are to have it available for our first game. I will be at practice on tomorrow and will get a group decision on which option our team will go with. Depending on the decision, it looks like the cost will be between $5-$12 per player.

Collins Hill has teamed up with the Gwinnett Braves this year on our fundraiser. Each player will receive 2 free tickets for the game scheduled on April 29. This will also be Collins Hill night at the Gwinnett Braves stadium. In addition, they are asking each player to participate by selling tickets for that game. The total number has not been finalized. On last year they asked players to sell 6 tickets. It will likely be around the same amount this year. I will give you more details about this fundraiser when I get all of the information.

Collins Hill is also planning an ALL STAR weekend around mid-season, which will also be another fund raising. It will be all-inclusive for all players. As soon as I get all the information on this, I will let you know.

Collins Hill offers two types of sponsorships (Business Sponsors and Friends and Family Sponsors). This is a great way to raise money for your team that will help pay for the extraneous costs, like uniform upgrades, pennants/banners, coach gifts, trophies, and team parties. These are tax deductible contributions, and a great way to advertise local for local businesses. If you are interested in helping to get sponsors, please let me know and I will get you the information and forms that you will need for sponsors.

Snack Schedule:

After each game, our players look forward to receiving snacks. As common practice, each family has a game for which they are responsible for bring snacks for the team. Snacks are normally a food snack and a drink (i.e. Gatorade, Capri-Sun, Juicy-Juice, etc). When purschasing team snacks, please refrain from purchasing any snacks containing peanuts, as some of our kids may have allergies. I'm in the process of developing a snack schedule and will be distributing once the game schedule is finalized.

Game Schedule:

The game schedules still have not been finalized. As soon as I receive the schedule I will be posting the schedule for everyone. However, our first game is on Saturday, March 12. We will let you know the time once the schedule is published.

Practice and Game Cancellations/Postponements:

In the case of inclement weather, CHAA make close the baseball parks. You can get immediate notice of when the fields are closed by signing up through the StatusMe website. Once you join, it will send you a text or email (whichever you prefer) when the games are cancelled due to field conditions or weather. Just go to www.statusme.com and click on 'Join Now" and follow the steps.
