Giants' Season Opener is a BIG Hit!

Box Score

Mar. 13, 2011

Way to go Giants in the season opener!  The Giants picked up the win with a 7-3 Victory over the Tigers on Saturday, March 12.  Ben Neadow was the opening day hurler for the Giants and pitched a two inning shut out against the Tigers.

The team looked great on Saturday and played good defense.  Although the Giants got off to a slow start offensively, they had a 5-run rally in the 4th inning and picked up another 2 runs to finish off the Tigers in the 5th inning.

The coaches were really proud of the performance of all of the players and called out players for some of the great defensive and offensive plays and focused on the great TEAM effort.  The opening day Game Ball went to Donovan Dunton-Raiford for the great hit that he had off of the Coach's pitch that resulted in a triple.  That great play by Donovan got all of the players off the bench, cheering for their team mate as he hustled around the bases with such determination.  Way to Go, Donovan!

The Giants next game is on Saturday, March 19 at home against the Braves.
