Giants Pick Up Another Win...this time against the Diamondbacks!
Mar. 27, 2011
The Giants played against the Diamondbacks in a Friday night game where they picked up another victory. The final score was 7 - 3. There has been something magical about the number "7" for the Giants. The Giants final score ended with 7 runs in each of their first three season games!
The team continues to improve. Coach Todd's message to the team this week was "You guys are really playing well and listening to the coaches. That is why we practice hard and try to get you all to listen and to do your best at all times." The coaches are really liking the way the team is playing defensively and getting hits off of kid pitch.
Charles Sanchez made his season debut on the pitcher's mound in the second inning. Charles did a great job and was able to pull off a strikeout in his first game at the mound.
There were two game balls recepients from Friday night's game. The first game ball went out to right fielder, Ryan Roberson. Yes, indeed! Ryan has earned his second game ball of the season as he picked up a great hit off the kid pitch. Again, Ryan gave his team an energy boost with that awesome hit. Great job, Ryan!
The second game ball went out to first baseman, Ethan Reusch. Ethan had a good night at bat as well as defending 1st Base! Not only did Ethan do a good job fielding balls hit to him, he also accepted some good throws that resulted in several outs at first base, which changed the momentum of the game. Congratulations, Ethan! ...Totally Awesome!
The Giants vs. Cubs Saturday game was postponed due to rain. They will play on this Thursday, 3/31, in a make-up game at 6:00pm. The Giants also will play again on this Friday night 4/1, at home against the Phillies at 7:45pm.
Hope to see you all at both games.
