Jason Van Benthuysen
Coach VanBenthuysen will be serving the baseball program this season as the on-campus Baseball Advisor, where he will oversee the tutorial program and interface with faculty and administrators on baseball matters.
Coach VanBenthuysen had previously coached baseball at Westmont for seven seasons – five as Head Coach of the Junior Varsity baseball team, one as Head Coach of the Varsity program and one as a Varsity Assistant Coach, where he helped to lead the Warriors to a League Championship in 2003. He has also served as football coach for the Warriors.
Coach Van Benthuysen is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where he played Rugby for the Wildcats. He spent his high school years at Bellarmine College Prep, where he played baseball for two seasons and was the West Catholic Athletic League Pole Vault Champion in 1987.
Coach Van Benthuysen played baseball for the San Jose Indians Semi-Professional Baseball Club from 1993-1997 and managed the team to a league title in 1996.
Coach Van Benthuysen currently serves as a teacher in the Social Science Department at Westmont. He resides in Campbell with his daughter, Tanner, and his Bulldog, Daisy.
