Steve Messer

Steve Messer is entering his first year as Head Coach of the Junior Varsity program at Westmont.

Coach Messer has been coaching youth baseball for 14 years and has coached with and been mentored by former college, minor, major league and Olympic players and coaches.   Most recently, he coached 18u summer developmental teams for four years.  He spent five years at Campbell and Santa Clara Pony Leagues coaching two spring seasons with a playoff appearance and two All-Star teams, including a Northern California Regional final appearance.  Coach Messer spent eight years at Quito Little League as a coach and league representative.  He recorded five major division league championships and coached eight All-Star teams, with five top-three District finishes and one District Championship. 

Coach Messer grew up in the Gilroy area, playing baseball through high school as a second baseman and outfielder. After high school, he played recreational adult baseball and softball for nearly twenty years.   He attended Gavilan, Evergreen and San Jose City Colleges while working at IBM.  Today, Coach Messer is a Senior Associate with Intero Real Estate Services in Saratoga, marketing/acquiring home and investment properties. 

Coach Messer lives in Campbell with his wife Tammy.  He has two sons, David (Cal Poly) and Drew (De Anza), and one daughter, Tiffany, who lives in Texas. Both David and Drew were baseball players at Westmont, and received various awards and recognition for their work with the baseball team and at school.
