The Mean N’ Green had a great season, but fell just short of qualifying for Nationals, failing to hold on to a 12-10 halftime lead. Unfortunately, USA Rugby was not as generous to the MARC Conferenc this year, giving them only 1 Bid. USA Rugby opted to send a 2nd team from a mediocre Cardinals Conference and a puzzling decision to send a 3rd team from the Southern Conference. York clearly would have rather seen these issues be settled on the field, but it appears that there is not a lot that can be done. If Bloomsburg performs well at Nationals, hopefully the MARC Conference will earn the respect it justly deserves, thus earning the 2nd seed it lost from a year ago. Well done!
Scranton stumbles against Drexel, so Millersville jumps up to the 3 seed and Scranton drops down to 4. York and Bloomsburg were already locked into #1 and #2 going into the Semifinal weekend. Drexel will miss the playoffs by 1 bonus point. Lehigh will also miss out by a few Bonus points.
York Controls Possession In Possible Playoff Preview
It was a marquee weekend for the MARC Conference. One that featured possible playoff matchups; York took care of the ball and earned a result at home against Millersville. In addition, Scranton traveled to Bloomsburg, and failed to earn a higher seed. Bloom destroyed Scranton 43-12. It appears that Bloomsburg is out of MARC obscurity. They will be making there first playoff appearance in a while and won’t be sneaking up on anybody with this one sided win. All 4 appear to be on there way to representing the MARC in the Semifinals.
